iPhone 15 Pro Buyers Report Overheating and Durability Concerns

In the wake of the iPhone 15's highly anticipated release on September 22, a wave of discontent has surged among users, with complaints primarily centered around overheating issues and durability concerns. While the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max boasted sleek titanium frames, purportedly an upgrade from prior stainless steel ones, users are questioning whether this change is the root of their problems.

Tech content producer Mohit Verma ignited the debate by highlighting the iPhone 15 Pro's tendency to heat up rapidly during regular use, making it uncomfortable to hold. FaceTime calls lasting only a few minutes or scrolling through content for a brief period are reportedly enough to cause the device to become alarmingly hot, a problem users claim has not been present in previous iPhone models.

Verma's viral video, showcasing the iPhone 15 Pro reaching temperatures as high as 42 degrees Celsius (107.6 degrees Fahrenheit), brought further attention to the issue. Users also reported issues like battery drain during normal usage.

However, some iPhone 15 Pro owners dispute these claims, suggesting that it might be isolated to defective units. They recommend seeking assistance from Apple stores to exchange affected devices.

Durability concerns surfaced when a widely shared video showed the iPhone 15 Pro Max's back glass shattering after being bent with bare hands during a durability test. This raised questions about the lighter titanium frame's impact on the phone's structural integrity.

Apple acknowledged that the titanium frame might temporarily alter in color due to skin oils but suggested that a gentle wipe with a damp cloth could restore its original appearance.

In response to these issues, Apple has encouraged all new iPhone owners to download the latest software upgrade, iOS 17.0.2, which includes essential bug fixes, and security updates, and resolves data transfer issues.

As users continue to share their experiences and concerns, it remains to be seen how Apple will address and rectify these problems with its latest iPhone models.
