 Pakistani App Developers Soar to New Heights, Ranking 16th Globally

Pakistani app developers have made great success during 2018, rising from the 27th rank to an astounding 16th position in 2023, according to Google. Pakistani apps were downloaded an astounding four billion times in the previous year.

Pakistan's exports of IT increased by 2% to $1.3 billion during the first half of the current financial year. These IT exports made up 38% of Pakistan's total service exports, according to research by Arif Habib, a major investment banking and securities firm in that nation.

According to Google data, the top 10 rankings in the gaming and app categories on both the Play Store and the App Store were dominated in 2022 by 65 apps developed by 24 Pakistani developers.

Surprisingly, Google noted that Pakistani apps had received four billion downloads worldwide the year before, representing a significant yearly growth rate of 30% between 2018 and 2022.

Over 500 developers and key industry players attended a significant in-person event for applications and games that Google recently hosted in Lahore.

Google has detailed intentions to increase its assistance for the local app business in an effort to help Pakistani developers take advantage of digital prospects. According to Google, one of these endeavors entails holding conferences like "Think Apps," which are designed to connect local developers with worldwide professionals and share their thoughts and trends.
