Launch of Dhabeji Special Economic Zone to Create 100,000 New Jobs in Pakistan
The Dhabeji Special Economic Zone is a prominent project in Pakistan and its foundation stone was placed by Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari, the chairman of the Pakistan People's Party (PPP) and the foreign minister. Murad Ali Shah, the chief minister of Sindh, many provincial ministers, Murtaza Wahab, the mayor of Karachi, and other PPP leaders were present during the ceremony.
The Dhabeji Special Economic Zone, which covers 700 acres, will give domestic and foreign businesses a place to base their business operations. The project's initial phase intends to bring in $5 billion in investment and generate about 100,000 new job opportunities. It is anticipated that this partnership between public and private parties will boost the region's economy and prosperity.
As the biggest economic undertaking in Pakistan, the Dhabeji Special Economic Zone is strategically significant. Its proximity to Port Qasim will make it easier to get raw materials and other imports at a lower cost and in less time. Additionally, quick access to the Karachi airport ensures that foreign businesspeople and government officials may travel comfortably and securely. The special economic zone will make efficient cargo movement to and from Central Asian nations possible due to its proximity to the National Highway.
