Pakistani students won Huawei's ICT competition held in China



Pakistani students achieved remarkable success in the 2022-2023 global finals of the Huawei Information Communication Technology (ICT) competition held at the Huawei headquarters in Shenzhen, China on May 27, and won the third prize in the innovation song. According to Huawei, more than 11,000 students representing more than 2,000 universities from 74 countries and regions of the world participated in the competition.


The second prize in the Network Track was awarded to Muhammad Faeez, Asad Anwar and Fahem Yar Khawar of Mehran University of Engineering and Technology, Jamshoro, and Maryam Fareed of Lahore Women's University. Another team consisting of Jamshoro Fatima Shafiq from Mehran University of Engineering and Technology, Eman Yaqoob from Lahore Women's University, Umar Raza from FAST Islamabad and Muhammad Zubair from Lahore University of Engineering and Technology won the third prize in the same category. The team competed against many other teams from around the world.


Pakistan also showcased its talent for innovation, with Team Glam and Gurhan Ustads from FAST - National University of Computer and Advanced Sciences, Islamabad, both winning the third prize. Team Glam consists of Hasan Ali Khatak, Moaaz Tameer and Sidra Farooqui, while Gurhan Ustads consists of Minhal Zafar, Hyder Ali, Muhammad Shahir and Noor-ul-Ain. This team, among several other international teams, showcased their innovative ideas and skills to secure their place in the competition.
